Christmas Eve Sioux Falls Style

I spent this Christmas Eve hanging out at Mark and Kay's house.

I thought Mark and Kay were having their big family get-together, but I was a day early.  Instead Mark, Kay, Kay's daughter Keely, Lady, Kato, and I enjoyed the warm house.

Mark put "Fly Boys" on the giant screen.  We partly watched the movie, and partly pondered what kind of cat I should have.  Mark thinks it's a good idea that I have borrow Kato.  So do I.

Instead of watching TV, I suggested that I start the pickup and we go see the famous light display in Crooks, South Dakota.  Kay looks it up on the Internet and finds this.

Off we go.

Keely was the main attraction of the 45-minutes sitting in line, until she became bored or something and went on a long long walk into the darkness away from everybody.

This is what it was like:

And, here it is!

(Spare yourself, jump halfway forward.  Start at 1:45.)

Merry Christmas, Sioux Falls style.

I highly recommend a visit to Crooks to see this light display. It was great fun. You might want to take something or someone along for entertainment while waiting in line. Also make sure to do a pit stop first!!!

I especially liked the part when it looked like the deer were running back and forth across the lawn. We went the first Sunday in December and only waited about a half hour. It was so much fun! I'd never been before and I've lived here four years!

    Merry Christmas!
